The cooler weather is here and no better way to kick off the camping season with our annual Cape Keraudren weekend. We'll be based at the campsite nearest to the boat ramp (look for our flags) and arrive anytime Friday afternoon/evening.
Our competition takes place on Saturday 13th with lines in at 6am and weigh in taking place between 4-5pm. Winners and rock up raffle will be announced around 5pm.
Prizes will be awarded for:
Heaviest Coral Trout
Biggest Mud Crab
*Normal size limits apply & no undersized fish are to be presented for weigh in.
Our Junior competition is Catch & Release style, with $200 awarded to the winner with the most cm of any species. Catch & Release sheets will be emailed to members, and available from our committee at the campsite - a copy is also available via the below link. Fish are to be photographed on a brag mat, details to be recorded on the sheet and both are to be presented to the weighmaster at the weigh in. Please note, that if a Junior wants to present a fish for the overall biggest of species (eg a Salmon) it will be excluded from their catch & release total.
If you aren't a member and would like to compete, or have non-members coming up with you, we must receive any membership applications and payment by 5pm Wednesday 10th May.
Cape Keraudren is open as usual (no food, water, power or fuel available) so please ensure that you are self sufficient for your stay. Ranger Dave has confirmed that the drop toilets & drop points are available for use. Fires are permitted, but to remain under 1x1m.
Cape Keraudren entrance fees: Payment is to be made in advance through the Shire of East Pilbara via the below link, or make a phone call and pay over the phone on 91758000
